So a few days ago, I was all set to start working (rather, tweeting, blogging, posting, etc.) when at around 7:20 - 7:30 in the evening, the lights went out. We were expecting the light to come back on immediately.
5 minutes passed, and we broke out the candles.
30 minutes passed, and I started shooting. And boosting exposure. And I ended up with shots like what you see above. Did not expect to see that halo. That was nice.

Then I started experimenting. I tried using my phone. Here's what I came up with - 2 shots, one raw, one boosted in-camera again.

It's around this time that I would usually start talking about how I can connect this to my walk with Christ.
Light is the first thing that we can see in darkness. In darkness, all there is, is confusion and uncertainty. In darkness, we would respond with fear, or with a false sense of security that doesn't make things any brighter. Light brings direction, comfort, and assurance.
Oftentimes we seek it, and we give God glory for Christ, who is the absolute Light. There are no solutions, no methods we can follow to make it in the darkness. It is not a 'what' but a 'Who' that can help us, and that is Christ.
For some people, seeing the Light on its own would be all they need for peace. Indeed, any trace of light in the darkness would give us peace. Many times in many TV Shows and Movies we would hear the line, 'Stay away from the light!' but I dare say that I would rather that there WAS a light in the first place, instead of total darkness.
Boost the exposure on a shot of light in the darkness, and you see that there was actually more light than your eyes would process immediately. For us in Christ, for us who understand that He is our Way, Truth, and Life, it would benefit us also to remember every day that His Life is the Light of men. In the context of the shots with boosted exposure, we may not see His light in everything going on in our lives, but rest assured - His light is present in all things, as His glory is seen in all things.
So Christ is our light. Believe in Him, and welcome His light in your life as well, and you will see everything come together in a way that only you would understand.
