Refreshed In Christ - A Reminder, A Testimony

I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose. - Galatians 2:21

Trips from and to Manila have, for the most part, been leaving me wanting much to learn, much more to accomplish. But today in this trip, things have been different. By God's grace, I have been reminded of His grace - first, in a way as intimate as a Father would just lavish His son with love, so genuine that there was no question that He took His time to tell me that He loves me.

I was also reminded through spoken word of what Christ's finished work accomplished for us who believe - the gift of tongues. It's a gift that goes far beyond what the world dismisses as glossolalia. It's not a work that earns us Christ - on the contrary, it's a gift Christ gave us allowing His Spirit to declare the wonderful works of God through us!

As I tuned in to Hillsong to rest my mind, I was reminded of a certain modern day 'prophetess' who condemned what she called 'Christian rock'. Then I was reminded of how people can claim to be 'used' by the Holy Spirit to say things, only to speak or act accompanied by a conscience driven by doctrine that does not put Christ in the center.

I was led to listen to a podcast entitled 'Keep Confessing Righteousness And See Good', reminding me of: the guarantee of absolute hopelessness that we have because of sin, the absolute holiness of an omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God, His equally absolute, unfailing and relentless love, seen through the complete salvation, sanctification, and redemption we have through the finished work of Christ. Christ became sin for us to become God's righteousness. I was reminded that this is our proclamation, our daily declaration, the foundation of our spoken words apart from the Spirit speaking through us.

This all may sound like hokum, but this is the Gospel that set me free from smoking, drinking, pornography, and God knows what else. This is the Gospel that broke all that tried to break me, and heals all my afflictions. This is the Gospel that shatters the hardness of my heart and breaks the shackles that bind.

Christ is enough for me.
Christ is more than enough for me.
Solus Christus. Soli Deo Gloria.
