The Potter's Call

The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.

Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. (Jeremiah 18:1-6 KJV)

I presume that there are many opinions available when it comes to what the greatest quality of the human race is. I believe that the best thing about being human is our being imperfect.

If we were perfect, we would have no need for God. The devil knows this and he persists in tempting all humanity to believe the lie that we can be equal to God in our current state.

In order for us to have true purpose, let alone success and triumph in all that we do, we must first realize that we cannot do it alone, and we need the guidance and direct involvement of a higher power - as clay needs a potter to mold it to what it can be, so we need a potter to have complete access to our being.

You are only as good as the skill of the potter who made you. Who is the potter in your life? Is it you, or is it God?

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. -Isaiah 64:8

Sin separated us from God, and therefore I dare say that if God is not your potter, then satan is. That's the reason why we have countless people wandering about, chasing lies, looking for their true being and meaning, or doing the exact opposite of what God meant for them to do.

We will never know our role until we allow God to take control. And it all starts by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life. Admit that you've sinned. Believe that Christ died in your place. Believe that He rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of God. Allow Him to come into your heart, and to take control.

The Bible never said that you have to follow a certain religion to be saved. It is your relationship with God that counts. We will never know when we will die, and if we die without making that choice, then we will spend eternity in hell, totally and hopelessly separated from God!

Do not delay! Accept Christ as your Savior now!
