Rest In Peace

Perhaps it's was supposed to be this way. I hole up for a couple of days, I listen to messages back to back and take notes for additional retention, and then all of a sudden I leave it all alone for another couple days... And although the high of listening to God's word may be gone for the moment, what's left are the bare bones, the foundation, the core message, the key words...

...and the key word for this year, as opposed to what I perceived, and as opposed to what we initially thought as a church, is REST.

Rest. Christ will never leave nor forsake you.
Rest. Christ finished the work for you..

Rest. Christ is alive in you, and you are alive in Christ.

Such a controversial word, but I'm glad my mom and I were finally on the same page regarding the definition of rest. Rest is not inactivity. There's no need for you to work to rest, because the Rest is alive in you, and by His finished work, you have, indeed, entered His rest. Instead, you work, you operated, you move and have your being out of the Rest that is alive in you.

Rest. Christ is alive in you, and you are alive in Christ.

Christ is our Savior, and for this year, more than any other year before it, Christ is our Rest.
