Daily Dependence - A Note To Myself And Everyone Else

As followers of Christ, whether we be beginning or far in our walk with Him, we should always strive to stay in the light, and in His presence, lest we lie and become a weak testimony to the world.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:6, 7 NKJV)

As mentioned, as we continue to walk in the light (I believe this is done by staying true to the Word of God and truly depending on Him daily), we would not just be in His presence, but we would have fellowship with Him.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. -Psalms 16:11

We see here that He will show us the path of life, and that there is already fullness of joy by being in His presence - how much more of His glory can we behold when we also have fellowship with Him! Let us submit to the Lord with every day, committing to take every step we take acknowledging Him, that we are directed to do His will.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV)

Our Lord is faithful to direct us AND equip us to do what He has made us for. He is faithful to keep a close watch over us, that we would not be overwhelmed by what the the world weighs us down with..

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say. (1 Corinthians 10:13-15 NKJV)

It is certain that we will fall when we make the decision to step away from the Lord's presence, but by His grace and His faithfulness alone, we can bounce back up and press on for the glory of God.

But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9

Staying in the presence of God and being in fellowship with Him is an act we have to decide to do daily. I end this with this passage:

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. (James 1:22-24 NKJV)

God bless us all.
