Time and Tithe

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without justice. And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

Ezekiel 22:29-30

God is looking for people to stand in the gap, between Him and the rest of reality that needs prayer. As believers, we need to pray, and to keep ourselves constantly in His presence, ready to intercede, ready to stand in the gap to get the Lord involved in whatever we encounter. No task is too big or too small for the Lord to handle. If we are faithful and truthful in our requests, aligning our desires to what we gather while in His presence, we can rest assured that everything we ask for in Jesus Christ's name will be done, and God will be glorified.

Obviously we cannot have anyone or anything else above God in our lives if we are to get anywhere significant with our prayers. It is very easy for us to approach the Lord through Jesus Christ, but we must be wary of the tactics of the enemy. If he does not tempt us, he will keep us too busy to take some time to talk to God. As believers I think that we should give time to God, just as we give tithes in obedience. I personally think that this is required, but I also understand that this is a difficult task to do, even if we have time for ourselves. I pray that the Lord grants us strength and wisdom to remember what is important - time with God.

May the Lord bless us all.
