Donald Trump. What a guy. To my understanding this guy has an assload of money, and skill backed up by an equal assload of experience learned from getting that assload of money. This assload probably contributes to the intestinal fortitude that he needs to slap someone, on national TV, with the two words that the significant majority of the employed slice of humanity is in one way or the other fearful of hearing: "You're fired."
I lack this assload, and therefore I lack the intestinal fortitude to tell somebody that their abilities could be of better use elsewhere.
My apologies. You may return to the previous 2 paragraphs and replace the word "assload" with "huge amount". Okay.
Moving on, it's tough enough to decide if somebody passes or fails under certain tests of ability that you develop, conduct and evaluate. What's harder is telling someone that they did not cut it; That they failed, that it's the end of the road.
ln that viewpoint, you may say that the mere slight yet significant hint of incompetence observed during such 'tests of ability' can invoke so much stress - to everybody involved.
No matter how you say it, it always rolls out of your tongue the same way a bandage peels off of a fresh wound - painfully and slowly. Now imagine 'pulling the bandage' on 20 people. On the same day.
Ironically, when the point sinks in to these people after being so eloquently presented, there's always the tendency for us to use quick fix lines - 'Band-aid' solutions. That's what it is. You rip the bandage off and shut the patient up with Band-aids.
The words of Chris Rock echo in the back of my head - "what kind of fuckin' doctor is you!?"
Call me a... Um... Euthanasiologist. Hell, there were 9 of us during that day that we axed around 20 people.
....I wonder, did Josef Mengele ever say "It's a tough job, but someone gotta do it..."?
...And while we're on the subject, did Jamie Kennedy ever realize that the last people who performed experiments on humans were hated even after they died?
I pray that I would not be that heartless.
