All Souls' Day Politics

I understand that around now, the US is going out and voting. I hope Bush wins, I REALLY hope he does.

Why? First of all, contrary to some pro-Kerry people I know, I don't like to sound cool by rooting for the underdog. And I believe a true man stands up and takes the effects of the mistakes he did. Also, history has taught us that hate is always the consequence of war. Bush made a mistake in assessing the difficulty of what HAD to be done in Iraq. And now he's a one-man army against a beast that has had centuries of experience - Hatred.

For that seemingly impossible yet valiant effort, I applaud him. Any human being would have cowered and stooped down against that beast. I can only think of one stronger force that strengthened Bush's will to rid Iraq of a tyrant: No other than God Almighty.

I don't know, I went right away with the topic of the war in Iraq since that's the main foundation of those I talked to that don't like him. I say that nobody wants to fight. I say that deep inside every macho tough guy there's a peacemaker. But I also say that what must be done must be done. Even if WMD's weren't found in that country, I would rather believe the judgement of a God-fearing President than the whims of a despot.

Well, enough of that. On the lighter side, I just heard that my brother's getting married soon. Gosh, how time flies. It seems like yesterday that I was pestering Pep to borrow his Calvin and Hobbeses to read. It seems like yesterday that him, Kip, and I were raising our fists and just singing the de facto Lardizabal brothers' slogan: "Yo-oooooooy!"

Pep, congratulations again. I pray that you and Emily would be happy all the time, through thick or thin, with God in the center of your lives.
