An Exhortation (Glory To Glory, II)

If I recall, this was taken on the very first time I shot outdoor night shots with the X-E2.
20mm, f3.2 (not sure why), ISO 6400. This was shot handheld at 1/8 seconds, +0.3EV.

The light made it easier for me to focus. I'm glad that Sir Kenn (the guy who sold me this X-E2) taught me how to adjust the size of the focus point. Metering, however, was set to 'Pattern' (was that 'Average' on the camera). I may have had a different result if I set it to Spot.

Praises and all glory to God alone. Soli Deo Gloria.

He is the Creator of All, and His glory is clearly seen in all that He has made - from the great stars in the heavens to the atoms that consist of all things, He has made them all, and His greatness is seen in all.

God is sovereign over all things. He sees all things happen, and all things happen through Him, whether our perceptions rule events to be good or evil. He is faithful, and mighty to save.

He loved the world so dearly, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. By the finished work of Christ we have a Helper, the Holy Spirit who leads us to all truth. It is by the Holy Spirit that we enjoy the loving presence of our Heavenly Father in this life. It is by the Holy Spirit that we have discernment and direction, guidance to keep looking ahead, to keep looking up.

Praise, praise and glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Praise God, from whom all blessings flow! It is because of His goodness and grace that we have been given a life with meaning. It is because of Christ's complete and finished work that we have life, and life abundant. By the Holy Spirit, God's absolutely perfect love casts out all fear that holds us back from walking in faith.

In Christ, indeed, we are made new. Not just changed, not just improved... We have been made new creations in Christ. And so in Christ we move and have our being. Let's think about that:

In Christ we are energized, in Christ we are motivated, in Christ we are directed, in Christ we are guided, in Christ we are validated. In Christ, we move.

In Christ we find meaning. In Christ we have purpose. In Christ we are assured. In Christ we are recognized. In Christ, we have our being.

God is not an author of confusion, but of peace. Any confusion, anything that would disturb our peace is not from our Father. Anything that would confuse us exalts itself above Christ, and must be placed under the obedience of the Son of God.

In Christ, we are at peace. In Christ, we are at rest. Though we are not always in comfort, we are at rest. We may be busy, and tasks pile up on us, but we are at rest. It is only in Christ that we are able to do more and rest more at the same time. Our bodies are working at its highest efficiency, but our minds are stress-free.

The world says this is possible only when you find your passion, but it doubles back and tells you that you can only have a singular passion, so you ought to choose wisely. It doesn't tell you the implication that you will never be efficient and at rest until you find your passion.

Yet in Christ, we have meaning... And if we haven't known our 'passions' yet, perhaps all the meaning we need to know is that we are loved by God, and nothing can ever separate us from that love because we are in Christ.

Imagine that. We are loved, even if we don't know what functions we have. We are loved, even if we don't know what functions we ought to focus on. We are loved, even if we try to make a name for ourselves for the purpose of finding our purpose for ourselves. We are loved, even when we deny that there are things that we try to do that others can do better. We are loved, so loved, and nothing can ever separate us from that love, because we are in Christ.

Our Heavenly Father, our Creator is sovereign over all. He loves us with an everlasting love, a love seen ultimately through Christ, who by His finished work has not only secured out salvation, but our meaning, our true being.

Our great God has covered all the angles. What's left for us to do is to believe. And the rest... Well, the rest is glorious history.

Praises and all glory to God alone. Soli Deo Gloria.
