Constant Focus

Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the Lord will be enriched. (Proverbs 28:14, 25 ESV)

The proverb says to trust in the LORD always, not sometimes, not only when we cannot do it on our own... Trust in the LORD ALWAYS. Yes, even at times when logic agrees and counsel approves, we still need to place our trust in the LORD - His ways and thoughts are incomparably deeper than our own thoughts.

The way I am led to understand the 'greedy person' in Proverbs 28:25 is he is greedy to the point that he shakes people down, distressing them just to get what he wants without regard for condition.

Though in my recent dealings I have been led to discern that some people fit the profile of this 'greedy person', I choose to give more of my attention towards the rest of the verse which states, "the one who trusts in the LORD will be enriched."

Let us learn to place our trust in the LORD always, even when we think we can do it on our own. Pride, arrogance, complacency, and terror - these are some of the sins that the enemy attempts to bring into our minds that our hearts would be hardened. Let us keep our eyes on the LORD and obey Him always, and peace and protection, on top of enrichment, all these things would follow.

It is only through Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross that we have been saved, and for us who have made Him Lord and Savior, He has truly given us life abundant. Praise the Lord.
