In the light of recent events, and in this day and age, people are so willing to take and share information through so many mediums. Everything is so in-your-face and it is easy for one to be overwhelmed by what is happening in an international, local, and personal point of view. Fortunately, the Bible tells us that there is one priority for us to take. Let me share these verses with you:
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom, from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Before we respond to all the knowledge and information that is coming our way, we need to run to God for wisdom. The knowledge we have of the world does have its benefits, but it is wisdom that brings us closer and closer to our purpose, closer and closer to our God, who rules over it all. That is all that should matter. Everything else follows only after that.
Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
We may have our own plans and ambitions, but all this must be lifted up to the Lord as well; by doing this, we acknowledge the fact that He has a plan and purpose far greater and much more intricate than we can ever imagine; Furthermore, we express our desire to take our plans and align them with His perfect plan. We align our will with His will. We're saying, "Lord, here's what I know, but we want Your way."
I believe this is the fear of the Lord in action. As we understand it more, I believe we become more willing vessels for the wisdom He can pour out on us by the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 3:13-18 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,
for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.
She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.
Proverbs 3:21-26 My son, do not lose sight of these-- keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
Let us, with every day given to us, pursue to have a greater and more intimate relationship with the Lord by placing more and more trust in Him. By faith and the Word I guarantee that as we commit more to Him, He will be faithful to honor our obedience by entrusting us with more wisdom, and its consequent blessings as mentioned in the Word.
Begin your relationship with God by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior today. Allow it to flourish by reading the Bible, linking up with fellow believers, and telling others about Him.
To God be all the glory.
