Presence of love brings us down to communicate the law.
The Ten Commandments are an example of the law. There are many other laws and standards present in the Bible, the Word of God. The presence of laws and statutes in the Word entails that God is not just a God who loves, but a God who reigns in order and justice. Recognizing and respecting this fact brings us to reverent fear of the Lord.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Knowledge of the law brings us up.
Presence of love brings us down to communicate the law.
True love is only known in God through Christ, who demonstrated the greatest love by giving Himself as a sacrifice for all who believe to be atoned and forgiven of the price of sin. This is a price that we ourselves cannot pay regardless of what we do besides first believing. This love that we have from God through Jesus Christ is what develops true understanding. It is this love that brings us back to earth, reminding us that without it we are all doomed to hell and eternal punishment.
It is this love that reminds us that regardless of how much we are tempted to think about ourselves - whether we raise ourselves and think we are above even one person, or if we wallow in self pity and scream out how hopeless we think we are, we were all headed for the same ghastly destination. It is love that brought Christ to examine each and every one of us for who we really are, and still thought that we all deserved unconditional salvation by the shedding of His blood. As we believe, we are introduced to the knowledge of His love, and we develop a boldness to communicate that nobody is too evil or to despised to save.
Perfect love casts out all fear.
Knowledge of the law without love makes us Pharisees.
Choosing only to hang on to love leads to deception and eventual self-destruction.
I agree with Pastor John Hagee. The observation of Law and Love must be present in us if we are to grow as believers.
Study the Word and obey. Constantly seek His love and grace. Always stay within His presence, and allow Him to be glorified though your life.
To God be all the glory.
